The thin metal carbide strip blade is a 6-inch 20 tooth-per-inch blade, specifically designed for cutting metal no more than 1/8″ thick. It’s best when used to cut hard steel like stainless, cast-iron, etc.

The medium-metal carbide blade covers the span of 1/16-inch to 5/16-inch material, and says ALL metals though I’m sure it’s better at cutting some than others. The blade is a 9-inch 10 tooth-per-inch beast of a blade that works great for cutting EMT and RMC conduit, strut, and most metals you’re going to come across on a jobsite.

The thick metal blade is extreme. It’s got 8 teeth-per-inch and is designed to cut extremely hard metals AND thick metals. Fewer teeth and more gaps between them means better heat dissipation. The blade is extremely stout as well, which translates to less vibration overall when cutting. I cut a Boron-Carbide Master lock rated 10 out of 10 for hardness – so an expensive and quality built lock. This carbide blade cut a carbide lock! Pretty impressive.

A lot of people are going crazy over expensive carbide blades right now, and they ARE impressive. However, there is still plenty of applications where a standard bi-metal blade does the best job…especially when cutting extremely thin sheet metal
